Life before JDH.
Bristol Old Vic
This is where it all started. I graduated from the University of the West of England with a 2:1 in Arts and Visual Culture and was determined to begin a career in arts marketing and PR.
In September 2008 I joined the UK’s oldest working theatre, Bristol Old Vic as Sales and Marketing Assistant and shortly progressed to Assistant Press Officer. The three years I spent at the 18th Century theatre taught me a lot about how to build relationships with journalists from across the globe. My love for social media and digital marketing also blossomed here; I worked closely with the design agency at the time to build a brand new website from conception through to completion and continued to create and manage the content, ensuring Bristol Old Vic’s digital profile was relevant and engaging.
A few of the shows I launched and promoted:
-
Beast – a Bristol Old Vic Young Company production
-
Uncle Vanya – a co-production with Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory
-
Hansel and Gretel – a co-production with Kneehigh
-
Suspension – a Bristol Old Vic production
-
Swallows and Amazons – a Bristol Old Vic production
-
Juliet and Her Romeo – a Bristol Old Vic production
-
The Misanthrope – a co-production with Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory
-
Mayfest – Bristol’s annual festival of contemporary theatre, produced by MAYK in collaboration with Bristol Old Vic
-
Bristol Jam
